Art, desserts & other things

I’ve had an incredibly busy week, with events in college keeping me occupied. And so for today’s post I channeled all my interests. I’ve always been a bit creative if I do say so myself. And to continue the slew of non outfit posts, here’s a roundup of my art, a killer chocolate cake recipe (no eggs, and will convert you if you don’t like chocolate) and a few inspiring outfit ideas for the week. Have a great one ahead, and I’ll see you on Wednesday with a little less laziness and a new outfit!

CSC_0308The photo above is my absolute FAVOURITE chocolate cake from Vegan Chocolate by Fran Costigan. It made me like chocolate- and I’m a vanilla person. Head over to Vegan Richa for the full recipe, and replace the non-dairy milk with regular for a wonderful, egg-free-friendly cake that’s sure to impress! I topped this with the Chocolate Ganache from The Kitchn.

I recently fell in love with typography, and I’ve been doodling song lyrics and emptying my calligraphy pens and fine tips. My friends now commission me to make custom writing for them.

My first love lies with fashion illustration and I’m currently working on a set of cards for the season. I’ve only done two but I’m happy to have found the courage to use colour pencils.

Where Chennai is concerned, wearing a dress is almost always out of the question. Enter maxi skirts. Paired with a boxy crop top and sparkly jewelry (think knuckle rings and stone necklaces), you’ll have a winning outfit on your hands. I love this Alia for Jabong black maxi (it even has a slit!), and it would look wonderful paired with this Forever 21 crop top (wear a tube top/tank inside), Snob Shop knuckle rings, and a killer pair of heels.

Oxblood is a wonderfully festive colour if worn right, and very versatile. Pair it with crochet, khaki and gold, or with olive and gunmetal. I really like this Forever 21 pair (pictured). I’m certain these jeans will work well with cream or white blouses as well.

That’s all for now! See you Wednesday and thanks for reading! Have a great week!
